I am having problems with an 8GB micro SD card (MMP-1282) received as part of a recent order (249959).

The card is showing a capacity of 15GB and this is causing it to get corrupted when running Raspbian.

Steps -
1. Copy Raspbian to the card from Linux:
dd if=2018-11-13-raspbian-stretch-lite.img of=/dev/sdc bs=4M
sync

2. Insert card in Raspberry Pi (Pi zero) and power on.
The Pi boots and gets to the logon prompt but does not allow input.

Examining the card in GParted shows the rootfs partition has been expanded to 14.95GB (see screenshot).

I have tried the same steps with another sd card and there were no problems, so I am confident the Pi and card reader are working OK.

Could you try using etcher - https://www.balena.io/etcher/

This may fix the capacity issue.

Hi
I downloaded Etcher and tried again, but the result was the same.

Ok thanks for trying that. I will have our sales team arrange a return for you.

We have tested the SD card and whilst we were able to get it working when using NOOBs, when trying to flash rasbian image directly it would not boot.

Subsequent tests have now resulted in the SD card not being read at all.

A replacement will be on its way shortly!
