Hi All

I'm looking to build a weather station with my Pi I've bought a Adafruit BMP280 temp/pressure sensor to measure indoor temp and pressure.

My question is in regards putting the sensor in enclosures, I've also got a TFT touch screen for the Pi and want to put it all in an enclosure but I'm not sure how well the sensor will operate.

Has anyone had any experience of doing this?

Thanks in advance.

Andy

If you put a temperature sensor inside a case with a Pi, I suspect you'll get slightly higher temp readings due to the heat produced from the Pi itself.

Hi Dave, thank you for the reply you are entirely right.

However if the sensor was covered outside of the main enclosure I don't know if that would work.

If the sensor is enclosed outside the main enclosure then you should be fine.

As long as no heat generating "things" are in the same enclosure as the sensor, then you should get an accurate ambient temperature reading.

Seeing as heat rises the best solution would be to mount the sensor (enclosed) underneath the Pi (or anything else that produces heat)
