I'm interested in finding a good quality solution to getting sound into a Pi. I've tried a USB sound card with mixed results and the log if filling up with "FIQ reported NYET" messages about lost data.

I'd prefer to use a HAT of some sort rather than the USB solution but I'm not having much success finding input, rather than output, cards for the Pi. It would be to be used for logging on a community radio station and as that is an OFCOM requirement it does need to be a reasonably good sound quality for the recordings.

Thanks for anyone who can point me at suitable options!

Here are some links that you might find interesting: ... ng-machine ... n-pisound/

Tracktion is also rumoured to be working on a HAT sound card.

Hope that helps some.

Thanks for those Doug, they do look like the sort of thing I'm after. I'll check their specs out but I'm sure one of them will be suitable ... then I just have to find the right case to fit the Pi and the card :D

Thanks again for your help,

PiSound looks like it will be pretty good quality, if a bit expensive for my tastes.

Currently 170% funded at Indigogo, one month remaining.
