We're trying to build a new sports helmet prototype and need to identify the components to build a slimline Bluetooth headset that must be able to connect to an iOS or android mobile.device. The 1x bluefruit feather Is an option , (we already have the electrocet microphone and speaker) and we need to us the smallest slimmest lipo battery that would fit with Bluetooth feather footprint as much as possible. However our first issue is choosing the correct board - which could be a feather or not as we just need the dimensions.

Would very much appreciate advice on which board to purchase to make a Bluetooth headset with one speaker and activation button with in/off switch. Thanks for advice.

Probably not the answer that you were looking for but I found this post on adafruit's forums:

We don't have anything that will transmit audio over Bluetooth.

Only Bluetooth Classic can do it (BLE isn't fast enough), and even then, you have to compress the audio before sending it and uncompress it before sending it to a speaker. That leads to hobbyist-unfriendly issues with vendor ID numbers and patent royalties, so we just don't carry it.
