Hi,
My nephew wants to pursue a career in electronic engineering and is currently in his first year at college. I thought I would buy him a raspberry Pi as a present and would like some help on what to buy.
I've been looking at an Ultimate Pi 2 kit and then adding the Grovepi kit and also a book to get him started.

Is that a good combination? Would that provide a good set of bits & pieces to start some projects?

Thanks

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

That would be a fantastic combination!

The only thing I would say is, does your nephew have any understanding of the programming language Python? And is he creative in coming up with project ideas?

If he doesn't, then he might find our YouTube workshop kit very beneficial - http://www.modmypi.com/raspberry-pi/set ... rkshop-kit

Many thanks, as he's completely new to programming, I'll add the youtube workshop kit.

Can you recommend a book?

I've heard very good reviews on Adventures in Raspberry Pi:
