Hi

Just purchased a BMP280 from you which arrived today

All connections soldered and checked

Raspberry pi not detecting it when I run i2cdetect?

Have tried another i2c device - so I can confirm i2c is definitely working

Any ideas?

Hi,

Could you confirm you have wired it up to the Pi correctly:

BMP280 --> RASPBERRY PI
Vin --> Pin 2 (5V)
GND --> Pin 6 (GND)
SCK --> Pin 5 (I2C1_SCL)
SDI --> Pin 3 (I2C1_SDA)

EDIT: Make sure the other pins are not connected: 3V0, SDO, CS

since last post I have tested on two other Pi's - another Pi2 and a Pi B+ and still not working

Have also rechecked soldering and is fine

So looks like faulty sensor?

Does indeed sound like a faulty sensor.

I believe a replacement has been arranged.

advice please for using BMP280 with Raspberry Pi

Got replacement sensor (original one faulty)

Now detects fine using i2cdetect

When I run sample code for BMP085/BMP180 I can get back temperature and air pressure - but the temperature is clearly wrong (82.7 C) and doesn't ever change - air pressure not sure if correct or not as nothing to compare it with at the minute

Anyone used this sensor with pi 2 and if so can they advise what "driver" I need etc to get it working

Thank you

Have you been able to fix this issue or figure out what it is? I had some sample code the other that worked and then accidentally deleted and can't find it.

All of the code I've been able to find today is for the BMP180 (which I thought would register the same) and I have the same problem. No matter how many times I run it, reads 82.7C and a negative number for a pressure reading. Very irritating to be sure.

I was able to get the temperature and pressure readings with Adafruit's code for the BME280. I haven't been able to dive into it much but the code seems to be the same core everything except humidity since our sensor doesn't have it. Humidity just reads as 0.0%

to be honest I gave up in the end and returned it - replaced it with a waterproof ds18b20 which works fine for my needs
