Hi there,

I recently was able to complete the tutorial to setup a PIR sensor, found on the website.

Link: http://www.modmypi.com/blog/raspberry-p ... -detection

However, I want to be able to setup a PIR sensor that communicates wirelessly to my Pi. Would I be able to do this through RF communication? I was thinking of attaching a Slice of Radio transceiver to my Pi, but i'm not sure what transmitting hardware I would require for the sensor itself and how to set it up. I want this sensor to be able to be connected to an external power source, free from any microcontroller.

Any help at all is appreciated!

Hi,

You achieve this with one of these kits:

The sensor would need to be connected to some type of microcontroller at that end, as it needs something to read the signal from the PIR and ping the off to the Pi.
