Screws to modmypi modular case

Post by asplundj » Sun Feb 28, 2016 2:25 pm

I have a modmypi modular case to my rpi 2. I have now bought a hifiberry dac+ with phone connection https://www.hifiberry.com/product/hifib ... lus-phone/

The hifiberry comes with 12 mm M2.5 nylon spacers. My problem is that I can't screw the nylon spacers into the modmypi case because the pitch of the screw threads are much finer than on the 6mm M2.5 screws that comes with the modular case.

My question is. What's the pitch of the M2.5 screws that fits with the case? Where can I find 12 mm spacers or standoff that fit with the modular case?

Thanks
Johan

Hi,

I'm not sure of the pitch of the thread, but the screws used for the case are self tapping, so you'll need to find 12 spacers that have a M2.5 self tapping thread (if they exist)

Aha, thanks. Then it makes sense that I couldn't fit the spacers

Perhaps I could find a longer self-tapping screw and have spacer without threads in-between.

Yeah using a longer self tapping screw with a tall "washer" would work as well.
