Dear Modmypi

PayPal Transaction ID 1TF55621KF008062C 31/12/18

Unfortunately the hdmi / video out seems to have stopped working. I tried other cables and monitors but the problem seems to be with the pi. I also had it checked by an IT guy at work who confirmed the same.

I look forward to hearing from you.

regards
david

Is it definitely the HDMI output and not that the Pi just isn't booting? When you power the Pi, do you see the green activity light flash at all?

Have you tried formatting the SD card and reinstalling Rasbian - http://s.modmypi.com/noobs

Just for reference, your order ID is: #249574

Hi there. There is no green -just steady red led.
I tried to format as you suggested ,but got the message ' ! formatting failed ' ...

I would appreciate your thoughts.......

Sounds like its the SD card that is at fault then. No green LED activity means the SD card isn't being read.

Do you have another SD card spare you could format and install Rasbian to test?

Looks like you're right!

I got another card formatted / loaded as you suggested and green LED & screen lit up!

I will try same again with your card & get back to you.......

Could just simply be a dead SD card... :(

You can try reviving the card using this guide - https://www.modmypi.com/blog/how-to-for ... dead-cards - please do so with caution though, be sure to double check all steps in the guide and ensure you are selecting the SD card and not a hard drive on your computer.

If that doesn't work, or you are not comfortable trying it, I will have our sales team arrange a return for you.

When I do that i only see:
disk 0 / online / 465 gb
disk 1 / online / 30mb

I know 30mb isn't the right size so I'm afraid to try it....... should I?

30Mb is the "FAT" partition (the only part of the sd card that is readable on a windows computer) so sounds about right. Assuming you have no other drives plugged in you should be safe.

ok ... i got:
diskpart succeeded in cleaning the disk

then i input:
create partition primary

response was:
No usable free extent could be found. it may be there is insufficient free pace to create a partition
