Interesting! Thanks for replicating the test, I can only assume the Pico board somehow consumes more power, or the batteries don't quite have the indicated 8000mAh.

Would you be able to query this with the manufacturer please, showing that both our results are far below the estimated 16 hours?
I will certainly query this with the manufacture of the PIco and the batteries.

How would you like to proceed with your battery? I'm happy to arrange a return for it if it doesn't meet your requirements? We don't, unfortunately, have any larger batteries though.

Here's the response from the manufacture:
The "Empty Running" RPi is consuming 400 - 450 mAh @5V, so it is about .45x5=2.25WA @5V
The battery LF, have very stable discharge voltage and it is 3.1V for 90% of the time, so it is 2.25/3.1=0.73A @ 3.1V
Then you need to increase this number by efficiency, 0.73A X1.25 = 0.91 A @3.1V
That mean we need to supply, 0.91A @ 3.1V in order to have 0.45 A@ 5V if we are using LF battery
You need then to have take into account that we are not discharging completely the battery, as need to keep some power for other things.
Therefore 8 hours with 8000 mAh LF battery is very close to the reality.
Looks like you are achieving the maximum run time for an 8000mAh battery. I will get our product description changed to reflect this.

I do apologies for the misleading information, and as I said, I'm more than happy to arrange a return for a full refund of the battery.

Hi Dave,

Good to have it confirmed that 8 hours is normal - I am happy to keep the battery as is.

Do you know when the other battery sizes will be in stock please?

I don't I'm afraid. Your best bet is to sign up to the stock notification system for each of the batteries you are interested in. As soon as they come in stock, you'll get an email telling you so.
