Pi Noir Camera not working with Zero

Post by jhdixon » Mon Nov 05, 2018 9:16 am

Hi, I have installed raspbian stretch (full version), connected the camera to the zero using the pi zero camera cable (MMP-0493), and followed the instructions here:

Code: Select all

https://www.rs-online.com/designspark/raspberry-pi-camera-setup
However, when I run the command:

Code: Select all

raspistill -o image.jpg
to test that it is working, I get the error:
mmal: Cannot read camera info, keeping the defaults for OV5647
mmal: mmal_vc_component_create: failed to create component 'vc.ril.camera' (1:ENOMEM)
mmal: mmal_component_create_core: could not create component 'vc.ril.camera' (1)
mmal: Failed to create camera component
mmal: main: Failed to create camera component
mmal: Camera is not detected. Please check carefully the camera module is installed correctly

Any ideas what is going wrong?

Thanks, James

Please post your order ID.

Double check the orientation of the ribbon cables. - https://projects.raspberrypi.org/en/pro ... h-picamera

Try reseating the "sunny" connector - viewtopic.php?f=33&t=9146&p=16722&hilit=sunny#p16722

Make sure the Pi is powered off, connect the camera module, then power the Pi on (don't try and connect the camera whilst the Pi is powered)
