Raspberry Pi 3A+ failed, will not boot

Post by fieryfredo » Tue May 14, 2019 9:48 pm

Order ID 256742
Version of Raspberry Pi - 3A+
Operating System - Raspbian
Fault - Pi was working normally, will now not boot - Red power LED lights, no SD card / HDMI activity
Troubleshooting Completed - Googling similar symptoms suggested a problem with no 3.3V on pin 1 which seems to be happening here, I am measuring 0V between Pin 1 and gnd and a dead pi as a result. SD card works in a spare Pi3B+, power supply is 5V 2.5A from same order ID as purchased the 3a+

Any help appreciated,
Thank you
Fred

What were you doing with the Pi before it died?
Has anything been plugged into the GPIO pins of the Pi?
Are you able to try a different power supply?

Hi,
I have been using it to run a 3d printer over usb (using a custom version of raspbian running octoprint). I haven't had anything connected to the gpio pins, just usb. I have tried a different power supply. The power supply and sd card I had been using with this pi works ok on another pi3b+
Thanks
Fred

Ok, I will have our sales team arrange a return. We'll get the unit back for testing and issue a replacement if found faulty,
