Raspberry Pi 3 HDMI port stopped working

Post by conc3pt » Thu May 16, 2019 1:53 am

Hello,
My Raspberry Pi 3 HDMI port stopped working suddenly although it was working fine since the day i received the order.
I have seen some threads made by people who run into the same problem.
Everything else works normally, the Pi is booting just fine as i can access it via SSH and VNC.
Is there anything i can do to resolve that issue?

P.S. i'm not asking for any warranty since it's over already, i'm just looking for help.

Best regards.

Order ID : 174851
Version of Raspberry Pi e.g. B+/2/3/Zero/ZeroW : 3B
Operating System : Raspbian stretch
Fault : HDMI port stopped working
Troubleshooting Completed : i tried another HDMI cable on the same screen which i were using and on another screen ... it just says "No signal"
I also uncomment hdmi_safe=1 in config.txt file without any success.

Take a look at all the HDMI configurations available - https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... t/video.md - and perhaps have a play with some of the settings.

You could try boosting the HDMI signal

Code: Select all

config_hdmi_boost=7

Thanks for replying,
I been trying all the suggestions posted on google since a week however it just says "No Signal"
I'm now convinced it's a hardware problem.
My problem is similiar to the following threads.

https://discourse.osmc.tv/t/black-screen-on-hdmi/7599

https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/168 ... l-7-screen

My question if you guys aware of that problem and if there is some fuse, capacitor or else which i can replace by myself?

Unfortunately we don't look into hardware related issues in much detail ourselves, they simply get sent back to the manufacture for analysis. So I wouldn't be able to suggest any components you could try replacing.

Sorry I can't be of much more help!

I believe you still can help, you're a Raspberry Pi distributor so you have a connection with the Raspberry Pi foundation right?
I just read the 1st two pages of the technical support forum and found 2 similar Hdmi problems like mine

Could you please let them know that they are making a product that has Made in the UK on it? i honestly was expecting that it will last more than that, It's a shame that i run into that Hdmi fault which doesn't even exist in the cheapest product which was Made in China!
